Compilation LP of early Residents material licensed from Ralph Records to the then recently fledged Virgin Records. The LP was called "Please Do Not Steal It!" when released on Ralph. It was made available in Europe and Australia with a different cover and title. The track listing is the same.

Please Do Not Steal It! was a promotional album sent to radio stations across the United States. It's title comes from the cover, which reads: This is a special DJ record of The Residents' alleged music. PLEASE DO NOT STEAL IT! Leave it at your station -- we need the airplay. Much obliged, Ralph Records.
Please Do Not Steal It! was made available in Europe and Australia with a different cover and title. The track listing is the same. Edition of 975 copies
Nibbles' liner notes refer to the album as "another first" for the band: The Residents' first non-concept album. The album is a compilation of songs from the first five albums (not a greatest hits album, it says -- after all, The Residents don't have any hits).

Strange Culture / Haeckel’s Tale

Film and video Series 2
Strange Culture - director Lynn Hershman (Conceiving Ada) 2005 The surreal nightmare of internationally-acclaimed artist and professor Steve Kurtz began when his wife Hope died in her sleep of heart failure. Police who responded to Kurtz's 911 call deemed Kurtz's art suspicious and called the FBI. Within hours the artist was detained as a suspected "bioterrorist" as dozens of federal agents in Hazmat suits sifted through his work and impounded his computers, manuscripts, books, his cat, and even his wife's body.
Six film cues including Main titles and End credits
Haeckel's tale - director John McNaughton (Henry Portait of a Serial Killer) Showtime 2005 19th Centrury horror tale. Sound track not used in broadcast version. Exclusive release.
Ten film cues including Main titles and End credits.

Stereo STUDIO streamed MP3s auto-cut to separate files / streamed MP3s bulk-cut / streamed MP3 audio recorded to WAV
This collection comes from 3 sources of data, covering different parts of the overall streams:
* AUTO-CUT - stream direct to individual MP3 files > rename files > transfer > you
* BULK - stream to bulk MP3 files > Cool Edit (pull out individual tracks) > transfer > you
* WAV - stream to bulk WAV files > Cool Edit (pull out individual tracks) > FLAC 8 > transfer > you
The auto-cut files' data is unmodified / come to you as is, tho the files WERE renamed.
The bulk MP3s & WAVs were trimmed to only include the relevant track, and some WAVs had frozen stream "pause gaps" removed.
As there's a mix and match of MP3s & FLACs here, an MD5 checksum file is included.
This particular collection from the streams was completed 2010-03-29.
Big Brother streamed a bunch of delicious rare tracks in "BOGcasts" around Xmas 2008 and New Years Eve 2008/2009.
These tracks are culled from some 40+ hours of those streams, organized by source.
All titles seen here include both the name displayed with the files, PLUS interpreted real song type titles added after that.
***ok so THIS batch really has no titles for most of the tracks
They're ordered here by the numbering order from the diplayed titles, even tho at times the numbers were used more than once.
The ends of the filenames note the source type for the files + the streaming rate:
* (A) AUTO-CUT, (B) BULK, (W) WAV + (96, 80, or 64) rate in kb
* (E) EARLY BULK - from early 2008 test BOGcasts, saved in bulk
The best version of each track was retained for this collection, following this order:
* complete tracks over cut tracks of any source (all 3 sources had occasional interruptions in the stream)
* either original MP3 source over WAVs
* highest stream rate at time of capture (some had multiple airings)
* original auto-cut MP3s over the others
You now have the best of them all, & can do what you want with them (ex. - up-code the MP3s to WAV & burn a playable CD).
***one track has cuts; it is the longest version of that track among the 3 sources available
***the Strange Culture tracks here are renamed to include "SCTrack ##", so they sort together
Many of the rare BOGcast tracks were related - a handful of album's worth's of instrumentals, scattered over many hours.
Those related tracks were extracted out & organized as part of previous issues from this BOGcast project.
THIS collection is what was leftover afterwards - very much like a Residue or BLU-type gathering of Residential miscellany.
Some of these are variations on tunes we already know, or full versions of things we'd only heard snippets from before.
Most appear to be new things that never otherwise saw release.
I have these broken here as they'd sort - the files with names first on a disc, & the rest on another.
And it works like that too, with the familiar & the unfamiliar each grouped together.
For the former, some tracks were given away free as part of the "2008 summer downloads".
For the latter, it may include:
* multiple bits from the Strange Culture soundtrack (way before the 2010 release)
* a set of pieces with world-music chants & music flourishes fading in & out (perhaps more outtakes from The Ughs!)
* little jams & maybe even some TBB outtakes
These are guesses of course - with no titles, who knows? Make up your own! Tap your foot to the wind, baby!
Thanks to Big Brother for airing them all!
Thanks to some guy who made a list of the tracks, which helped retrieve these out of hours of streams!
And thanks to the 3 sourceholders (S, C & D) for allowing this collection to be cobbled together from them all!

Once more, many thanks, especially for Assorted Secrets!!
Long life to your blog, you know the way...
Just wanted to say, I've been buying the Residents for so long, I got a free SantaDog78 45 in the mail. It's been wonderful following their career. Love the site. And you're not helping me find another job. Salute!
there is no link for disc 2 on the kettles of fish posting.
There is now Anon.
Enjoy all!!!
Any chance of posting "Documentation - Tunes In Danger Of Becoming Lost"? Thanks so much for all the awesome shares!
Too cool!! Thanks for Documentation and Film And Video Series 2! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this blog!!!!

God damn you. All of you.
R.I.P. Ralph Records 1999-2010
Big Brother didn't post these to have them pirated. He posted them to support the Residents. The Residents are a small band, and their albums aren't expensive. Thanks to this piracy shit, RalphAmerica has gone out of business. I hope you're all happy in contributing to the gradual fall of the Residents.
For your consideration:
http://theresidents.downloadcentric.net/app
A lot of sour grapes here from Residents loyalist, however, I too am a very long time supporter of The Residents who has bought multiple copies of every release, and most directly from Ralph, but I refuse to pay for MP3s, so I greatly appreciate all the hard work and dedication that has gone into this website to share the wealth.
I will continue to purchase multiple copies of any real product The Residents release, but MP3s are like photocopies of the Mona Lisa — pure shit!
Further, any true collector will want to purchase the real deal, regardless of what is shared online, and it can''t be helped that the masses are morons and are satisfied with MP3s as real product. So blaming this website as part of the cause of why Ralph America went out of business is pure bullshit.
Truth be told, the final regime of Ralph totally lacked the customer service and warmth of regimes past, so I am not sad over it's demise, and change is good.
Considering, the quality of The Residents music over the past decade or so, perhaps it's time from them to retire anyway. Like so many other bands, they have gone on far past their prime.
Homer has lost his impact as a great singer — hence all the unbearable storytelling crap!. Cook is a piece of shit guitar player that ruins everything he plays on. Honestly, Hardy should move forward as a solo act, because the only music worth a damn these last many years is the instrumental work.
If anyone is upset I am using The Residents' real names here, too bad! I have lost respect for them long ago for this childish charade. It was cute for a while, but fucking grow up. We know who you are and pretending you are unknown is completely obtuse!
At any rate, I do look forward to what is next for The Residents and hail this blog as one of the greatest online!
Just my opinion, as all of you are welcome to yours!
